subject: The Samsung Omnia - Revel In The Glory [print this page]

The iPhone was truly a piece of workThe iPhone was truly a piece of work. Not only did it revolutionalize the mobile market, it also gave other mobile phone manufacturers a run for their money, which basically had them unleash a set of new phones in the market. With the touch UI gaining popularity, many phones began working on offering touch phones, like the LG Cookie, the LG Cookie Pep, the Samsung Corby, etc. However, these phones were quite economical and did not offer much to the customer, other than the first touch experience. But then, there were also some phones that really used the touch UI and offered some dominant features to the users - like the Samsung Omnia.

The Samsung Omnia is the first Windows Mobile run phone that offers a 5 MP camera with all the bells and whistles like a LED, autofocus, geotagging, etc. This is itself makes the phone a sure buy, but there are several other reasons why the Samsung Omnia pushes the competitors away.

Sleek Design:

Mobile phone manufacturers have been experimenting with the candy design for the past few years, and have succeeded in adding a personal touch to even the most simple of candy phones. The Samsung Omnia is characterized by its slim and longish look. Also, the Omnia does not have many hardware buttons, cleaning off a lot of clutter - but you will not miss them because the touchpad is quite intuitively designed, especially that part where long pressing a particular button takes you back to the menu, no matter where you are in the UI.

Features:

The Samsung Omnia is a great feature phone, with 3G support for the internet junkies, along with a 8 to 16 GB storage memory, so no longer need to worry about where to store your mobile movies. Also, it allows for Wi Fi and has a built in GPS and A-GPS receiver. It also TV Out, which means that it can be directed connected to the television set, and has FM radio with RDS. Also, what makes this cell phone a good buy is direct DivX support, something that very few cell phones in the price range can provide. Another advantage is the headset which comes with a 3.5 mm jack.

All in all, the Samsung Omnia is a great buy for someone who is looking for sleek looks, good features and excellent cal quality out of their mobile phones.
