Another exceptional feature of the Pronto is its low and affordable pricing, allowing small business owners and private individuals to create high quality ID cards on a budget. However, printing on a budget does not mean skimping on security; the Pronto includes the HoloKote, a watermark feature that reduces the risks of forged and counterfeit cards. The Pronto driver also allows the user to select among 4 watermark designs, all of which are free.

Specifications

The Pronto makes use of standard ID printer technology, with a thermal transfer system involving sublimation via colour dye and solid wax. The print head offers a resolution of 300 dpi, and can be replaced in the field.

The Pronto is designed to print on standard sized cards of the PVC ISO CR80 specification, and also provides the option of printing on HoloPatch Cards. Cards used in the Pronto may range from 0.51 mm to 1.6 mm in thickness. Additionally, the Pronto weighs a modest 4.4 kilograms, and at 270 mm by 215 mm by 233 mm, is compact enough to fit on most office desks.

The Pronto includes drivers for several Windows operating systems, as well as a USB 1.1 interface for connectivity. The Pronto offers 2 years of limited warranty protection in North America and the European Union, and a 1 year limited warranty in other locations. The Pronto can print ID cards rapidly, taking only 35 seconds to print an image in full colour, and only 7 seconds to print a monochrome image.

Regarding security, the Pronto provides the user with the ability to print a watermark on the card, courtesy of HoloKote, reducing counterfeiting and forgery.
