subject: a few arguments why you need to declutter your home today! [print this page] Everyone hates being in a cluttered home or office. I think there are actually 3 big explanations why decluttering your space is important. I used these reasons as motivation to change my lifestyle to become more oganized.
The first reason - Stress. It is obvious that clutter causes stress This has been scientifically proven in a number of studies. People who are in cluttered and unorganzied environments experience more stress than those who live in organized, clutter-free spaces. Could you experience this? I know I could. When my house is cluttered it causes stress in a few ways. I simply hate looking and being in a cluttered room because I feel messy, I don't like it. I feel like I don't have control over my possessions. I also hate when I can't find something important because my house is so cluttered. There is a ton of energy, not only physical energy, wasted when you spend minutes or hours searching for things.
The second reason - Time. Everyone is busy nowadays, and living in a cluttered environment eats up your time because you spend a lot of time searching for things. When everything has its place and you know where to find everything, your home runs much smoother. A decluttered home with everything where it belongs is a huge time-saver. You'll be surprised how much the saved minutes add up from not having to search so long for things.
The third reason - Appearance. This is kinda dishearting to hear, but people really do get judged by their peers for being cluttered and unorganized. If your peers see you as a disorganized person, they will think you are not as smart as you really may be. That is a fact. You can show people how you really are, clutter free and smart!
It is important to start with the little things when decluttering. You'll soon be in control of your clutter. You'll find great help online when decluttering.
