subject: Learn How To Prevent Panic Attacks [print this page]

It is an accepted fact that anyone can come up with a million reasons for you to despise having a panic attack disorder. It is also expected that you of all people should know what the symptoms of a panic attack are. Because of that, I feel the need to give you instead ways on how to prevent panic attacks.

You must be fed up with all the panic attack disorder preventions that are posted everywhere because most of them do not answer to your specific needs. I understand your frustration; and because of that we will break down very general ways to prevent panic attacks, and make them more specific.

Agoraphobia Panic Attacks. Agoraphobia panic attack is a kind of panic attack that is triggered by being in public. What you can do to prevent this is to slowly conquer your fears. Attend small gatherings and slowly rise up to bigger ones. Do not be afraid to have an attack in public and don't mind those who stare at you; you have nothing to lose anyway.

Panic Attacks Caused By Your Personality. Many people get the disorder because they do not know how to express themselves, or they are too afraid to confront anyone. What you can do is to start with "baby steps". Start to confront people who are of lesser threat, like a loved one or a relative. This way, you can start building up the confidence to express yourself in a more major way.

Panic Attacks During Labor. This kind of panic attack is pretty difficult to avoid especially if you are a first-time mom. I understand how terrifying it could be for you to go through all of these; however, the only key to avoid a panic attack is to anticipate pain even during your second trimester. That way, when the day arrives for you to give birth, you already know what to expect and you will not panic.

There are many ways for you to prevent a panic attack; but as a rule, there is no better person to teach you how to prevent panic attacks, but you. After all, it is your body and not mine. What you should only keep in mind is the fact that panic attack preventive measures are always in congruent to what triggers your attack.
