subject: Elite One Percent Of Mlm Leaders Know These Two Steps [print this page]

Due to my frustration of not seeing results with the current workout plan that I was on, I decided to hire a personal trainer. As my personal trainer was seeing to it that I saw value in hiring him, it made me realize the similarities that personal trainers have in common with MLM leaders.

#1 - It Costs Something To Go To The Next Level. Sure, you can "train" on your own and you can see some improvements in doing that; however, if you want to see what you've really got it often takes someone pushing you past the limits you thought had always existed. When it comes to MLM we have to be willing to invest in books, listen to trusted industry leaders, and apply what we are learning. We need to be willing to pay whatever the price to sharpen ourselves as leaders. Leaders never stop learning even though it can be expensive and at times inconvenient.

2). You're only cheating yourself if you take shortcuts. During my first workout session with my personal trainer, I was tempted to quit several reps early, but with his encouragement, I pushed through my breaking point. Would it have been easy for me to quit early? Of course! He would never have known, but in the end I would have been cheating only myself. It was in that moment that I realized that I'm only going to get out of this what I put into it. Now I know that, but when I was faced with being complacent, it made more sense to me. MLM leaders know this rule very well. It's not what you know, but what you apply that really makes a difference. If you continue to make excuses for yourself, you will continue to get the same results. Going to the next level will require you to avoid shortcuts.

Much like my need for a personal trainer, I realized the same was true for my Network marketing business. I needed to find someone who could coach me and point out the areas that I needed to pay more attention to in order to become great. If you desire to become a true MLM Leader in this industry, you must take a hard look at those 2 steps above and find someone who can mentor you if you want to go to the next level. Success starts in your mind first.

John Maxwell says this about leadership, "A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way". Leaders go out of their way to help others, take charge and never think they have arrived. What kind of Leader are you?
