Nothing is more wonderful as watching a colorful pretty marvel of nature flying in your home garden. Birds are probably the species most graciously blessed by Mother Nature. The brilliant colors animated via beautiful flapping wings offer a jaw dropping sight for even the most callous of all beings. However, attracting these birds in your garden is not as simple as it may sounds, there many people people who particularly emblellish their gardens to attract these creatures. Their purpose is not to catch them but to enjoy the beauty of nature for a while. People like thes are known as birdwatchers. Garden birds are not only fascinated by the flora and fauna, garden dcor such as wind chimes, sprinklers and bird baths are also alluring to birds. However, there is a number of garden birds which will come to your gardens without too much efforts. Yet, as the population of serious bird watchers is elevating in America and Europe, the appearance of cute little guests in garden will dramatically go down if not correctly prepared. You must also have some knowledge about the birds that come often in your area. Apart from the knowledge about their feed and nests, there are also many small facts that are astonishing to know. Here are some of the most common garden birds found around Europe and America.

Swallow: Swallows are frequently seen birds in many parts of the world and the birds can be migratory and non-migratory. There are many kinds of swallows which are now endangered by man. They are found on every corner of the world except Antarctica. Some regular types of swallows are Mangrove swallow and Martin. Swallows produce many different sounds or calls that show their excitement or any other kind of communication.

Blue Jay: Contrary to swallows Blue jays are tougher to attract in a garden. It is a beautiful bird in lavender blue to lighter blue shades. The Jay belongs to the Corvidae family. With its origins in North America, it is a popular and an aggressive bird. It raises its crest to display its aggression and when the crest is flattened it is at rest or feeding. This usually makes a gull like loud noise which is in reality an alarm to call more birds in risky situations such as Hawks attack.

Common Cardinals: Cardinals or Redbirds are bright and lively addition to a garden. It is a normal sized bird and commonly found in South and North America. The bird has a very distinctive mask on its face which is gray for females and black for males. Although both male and female are reddish, the male bird is normally a bit more vibrant than the females. The males typically use their sounds to mark their territory.

American Goldfinch: It is a vibrantly colored travelling bird which flies from Southern Carolina to North Carolina. The male goldfinch transforms its shade from yellow to olive in the cold season whereas the female is usually dull yellow brown which somewhat brightens in the summer. American goldfinch is also the state bird of Iowa, New Jersey and Washington.
