Larger pots and pans can be put into a dishwasher to effectively clean them or at the very least loosen dried on or burnt on food. You may have to save these for a separate wash though as these larger items can take up a lot of the space inside your dishwasher and could even block the sprinkler head. You shouldnt block the sprinkler as this can mean your dishwasher will find it more difficult to effectively clean all of the items being washed. If you find some items, especially those in the upper drawer are not being washed properly then you will likely have blocked the sprinkler head.
As long as you use your dishwasher wisely and make sure you only use it when there is a full load then you should have no problems in keeping your kitchen clean and saving the amount of time you would have had to dedicate to cleaning your home.
