subject: A tribute to my diary [print this page]

Right from my childhood this "inborn talent" had ushered me to make endless entries in my secret diary. Although, nobody had the permission to read through any of these entries. So nobody had ever set his/her eyes in these memories. From time to time, I used to read through them, and praise my "intelligence and clever" remarks. I used to fantasize, people reading my entries "praising me endlessly". But, never did I built up enough courage, to let anyone read any one of those "awesome" articles.

In my early years, I used to write about endless things. It varied from alpin to elephant. I even tried to compose poems. But soon found myself laughing at the rhymes. On the other hand, my elder sister was a good poetess. Her verses were even sent for inter-school competitions and some of them had even acclaimed name. Seeing all these, I decided not to pen any poem.

The entries kept on growing, as I reached my teens. Soon they changed their style. From amazing facts appreciated by my eyes, they became, the space for venting the constant frustrations, bitter experiences, depressions and so on.

As time flew by, so did my habit of writing. Importance of my diary lessened as the importance of my studies crept ahead until it came to a halt. I had never been more than an average student all my life. But, it was difficult to conceal the expectations of my parents and sometimes, mine too. Hence, there came a time, when I had to stay away from my family, to pursue higher studies. It was then, that I realized, the importance of family. I regained my habit of writing diaries again. But this time, it was more about sharing my experience with someone I can trust, than, appraising my writings. With time, I mastered the art of daydreaming and many of these entries shows the resemblance. During that time, I never worried about my writings. I kept on writing endlessly, like a child trying to lick every bit of ice-cream before it melts down.

As I grew old, responsibilities started to increase and so did my "chivalry". I tied a knot. But still I continued this habit of writing. Little did i know in my childhood days, that, one day my entries would be gawked by some other eye. There again, I felt the tingle, when my writings were said to be "acceptable". I wanted to do justice to my diary. But felt it to be a very ambitious move. Something which was only for me and my diary, would now be for every unknown eyes. I dwelt this idea, for long long nights. Suddenly I saw her Blog. I saw the amazing writing of one of my childhood friend. From the very beginning she had always been an affectionate writer. During all these years, I had known, that, she used to write, but never ever did I read any of her writings after the school days. I read through all her entries. I also found blogs from other schoolmates. And Bingo!!! And the adrenalin rushed through my veins and I decided to go "Global".

But now again, I am doubtful about my knowledge. You know, the knowledge I was talking about for so long? The knowledge about my style, about the representation, about the way I usually talk about any issue, about my writings in whole. So I want a favor from all of you. You will have to bear the pain of reading my articles and inform me. Beware! If out of formality, you are praising me, then in future there would be more such articles/blogs from me, tormenting you and your life, day and night.

A tribute to my diary
