There is no File tab anymore. What does that imply? Maybe the open and save commands are not required anymore? That is all very confusing. Suddenly I saw a round Microsoft button in the upper left corner. This button holds the items of the old file tab.
A smile came up on my face, after finding the button. Now I could open and save a file. The next task was to look around to discover some new functions. I started looking, but I did not see any new functions. Well, there might be some, but then they are concealed well, like most of the more powerful functions at all times have been. One thing on the other hand is very visible and that is the new order of the toolbars. The Microsoft standard until now was a popup menu which was showing as you clicked a menu tab. The very same commands have been also accessible in the toolbar. The whole thing was twice and so too from time to time confusing.
Nowadays with the new Microsoft Word download this condition has changed. The toolbar is replacing the popup menu now and it changes according to the menu tab that you click. Now all functions are only one time available. The now newly labeled tabs open functions, which are prearranged by task instead of type. This is a great deal better to understand.
Upgrading using the Microsoft Word download to version 2007 was definitely the right choice. Even though, that it took quite some time to get used to the new order of the instructions, it was worth the money as well as the time. I think that it was a really good idea, to change the user-friendliness of the new Word.
