Dreams, sometimes called a window to the future. Thats a bit of a stretch. If anything, they're more of a link to the past. Your dreams do not show the future, your dreams are a situation created from everything collected in your subconcious mind. Whenever my friend tells me he or she had a bad dream last night, I ask them to describe it for me. When they do, I ask them, for instance, a girl I knew had nightmares about murder. She told me that she dreamt she was murdered. So I asked her to describe everything she did that day. She gave me a very long list, but 1 key activity stood out to me. She watched the news. I asked her to tell me what the main story she saw was. Guess what it was? A women in the united states, California I recall, had a man enter her home, and sadly, murder her. She didn't even know how she was able to remember, but of course she would. Her collective sub-concious gathered that, remained dormant in her mind until she dreamt, and when she did it ran wild. Dreams are based off of what was thought about at length, something stumilating, or something that stays on your mind. If you start dating a new girl, the chances are high that, that night, she will be in your dreams. Dreams are not very philosophical in the sense that they have the ability to show the future, your dreams are a place where imagination, basically runs rampant. Your mind takes everything of input that day, takes very key elements such as a major event or something that had a large impact on you, replicates it to some degree and intergrates it with tons of other things. Thats what makes dreams so intense, and thats what makes dreams so random. If you lack anything exciting in one day, your mind will either replicate the previous nights dream, or it will take whatever it can to make something up. The nights where you dream that your bouncing around a magical wonderland on a unicorns back doesn't mean you were smoking some crack, it means you had a boring day, and your mind's in overdrive. This can be a wonderful experience, it can be mistifying to take a look at your unconcious from the creative sense
