But for many years Diablo II is providing the exclusive replay value and enjoyment even after the introduction of Diablo III. As the level increases to Act V you will notice the better elite items. 4) Rare items: These rare items are often less appearing. Rare items are denoted by their name being shown in yellow and randomly select the magical attributes. Rare items can have 2 to 6 affixes to them. 5) Set items: set items are like unique items. If you equip with the entire set then the extra bonus will be given to you. a) Partial set bonus b) New full set bonuses c) Class sets 6) Miscellaneous items: the items like books, charms, jewels, potions, runes are miscellaneous. 7) Gems: gems are the socketable item found in Diablo II. These are the precious stones that have a magical effect when socketed into items. Higher the grade stronger the effect. Gems cant be removed from the socket once it inserted. The new expansion of Diablo II, Lord of destruction is released in 2001 that introduce more new categories; 1) Elite items 2) Class-specific items 3) Crafted items 4) Ethereal items 5) Runes 6) Jewels In Diablo II every item was given an item level which is stored in the database of the game file. Following are certain characteristics of the items they are: 1) They can be traded with trading NPCs. 2) They can be held in characters inventory. 3) They can be dropped by killed monsters on the ground or by opening chest and breaking containers. 4) They can be put on the ground So these items can be found and collected by the player character for sale or use purpose.
