The legal system is a set of rules that has been set forth to enforce institutions. It has such a force in our world today that it is amazing to think that there are laws that are hundreds of years old that are still in existence today.

There are many types of law that are used to keep peace, maintain order, and allow citizens to live a fair and just life. Through contract law, people are allowed to have security in their transactions.

Constitutional law was set forth so everybody could have basic human rights and would be entitled to fair treatment. This way, bigger and stronger people could not overtake a weaker person on a whim.

There is also administrative law; which is used to oversee the decisions that government makes in the creation of new laws. Laws to set new laws!

Through international law, countries are regulated by this code of standards in their dealings with other countries. This protects weaker countries from being taken advantage of and gives them peace of mind.

There are many other types of law that exist, and these are just a few that are some of the bigger arms of law. They are sometimes very elaborate systems so they are able to cover almost any circumstance.

The legal profession is a long course of study for anyone, due to the immense size of the legal system. These lawyers are sought after for their extensive knowledge and ability to interpret the law.

Lawyers are very well paid for their dealings too. Attorneys can make much more than one hundred thousand dollars per year, quite easily.

During the time of the ancient Egyptians, near 3000 BC, there as a civil code which would be their ancient laws. These basics principals were set forth with casuistic statements (if... then). What progressive thinking!

This tradition of law led into the biblical ages, into ancient Greece, and even through the Dark Ages. Even ancient China and India had a code of law; which was used to maintain the peace and the harmony.

Today there are many studies of law including the sociology of law, ethics of law, and even the science of law. Would these be lawyer scientists?

Almost every organization in the world has a system to govern the body of people: the world, military, corporations, counties, governments, etc. It goes to show how successful and necessary these codes of conduct are to us!

Through the study of law, a lawyer will gain a higher understanding of what the purpose is of the systems of weights and balances in our world today. Attorneys are able to see the big picture and help interpret it for the common folk.

Of course, if you want to talk to a lawyer about the law and how it pertains to you, be prepared to pay a pretty penny! It will be well worth your time to find out the accurate information you're looking for.

If you are looking for a lawyer, I would suggest an Internet search. You can quickly find a local attorney that will suit your needs. Be sure to find a lawyer who specialized in the specific part of the law you need help with, as many who study the law choose a specialty for their practice.

Hopefully you don't need to find a lawyer who specializes in criminal law! Anything from estate planning and living wills, to corporate and business law, you'll be able to find with a search online. There will be many lawyers in your local area for you to meet with.

If you are interested in law and are thinking about a career in law, go to your local library and check out some books that pertain to the part of law you think you have an interest in. Prepare yourself for your studies because law school is more reading that most people are comfortable with.

If you know a lawyer, ask to meet with him or her and see what their daily work life is like. This will help you see if it is something you are interested in doing for your work career.

Also, start saving your dollars because law school will be expensive and will require a great sacrifice to be able to go and get your degree. But if it is something you are passionate about, you'll love nothing more than to become a lawyer and spend your career reading about, understanding, and even teaching the law to other people.
