subject: Forget the iPhone and Get 4G Wireless Internet [print this page] For the last decade, Apple products have taken over the electronics market in a way that no one could have predicted. The brand had always played second fiddle to all other brands that ran on Windows operating systems, but with the release of the first iPod, Apple was able to reinvent itself as a hip young brand. Since then Apple has been an industry leader that all other brands have looked to for ideas and that all other brands have hoped to overtake. The iPhone, though, was the product that was really became Apple's baby and really secured their position as a brand that people all over the world wanted. Apple has become a status symbol, but unfortunately for the company it's latest fourth generation iPhone is a total flop. In addition to leaving out essential features such as 4G internet technology, the iPhone has basic problems with it's design. It's unclear why a company like Apple would release such a flawed product, but the mistake clearly has serious ramifications. Many loyal Apple users have finally started to think about the products made by other companies because there really aren't any tech experts that support the latest iPhone. Even Consumer Reports has stated that they do not recommend that customers buy the phone because it's simply too flawed. By now, everyone has heard all about the signal problem that the phone has. When testers have used the iPhone in the exact same local as regular old cellphones that aren't very technologically advanced, the iPhone has dropped calls more often and has had a weak signal, and it's been proven that the signal problems aren't AT&T's fault. The fault lies in the phone. The iPhone is so problematic that Apple has even had to offer customers a free case to put pressure on the left side of the phone, because it doesn't otherwise work. Without the case, many iPhone users have resorted to putting duct tape all over their phone to hold it together, which is clearly something that should not be happening. Prior to the release of the phone, however, it became clear that Apple wasn't putting as much effort into the iPhone as it should have been. The iPhone's competitors were releasing smartphones with cutting edge technologies inside them like Sprint's HTC EVO 4G. The HTC EVO incorporates 4G wireless internet technology, which is currently the fastest way to connect wirelessly from anywhere. That means that Sprint's customers in smaller communities like Harrisburg, Pennsylvania can connect to the internet more quickly than Apple's customers in major metropolitan areas like New York City! Of course Sprint's customers in NYC can also take advantage of their smartphone and incredibly speedy internet networks, but everyone is wondering why an industry leader like Apple has fallen behind the rest of the pack. Sales for the HTC EVO are skyrocketing and Sprint is struggling to meet the demand for the phone with supply. Other competitors are also on the verge of releasing smartphones that incorporate 4G technology, so unfazed Apple fans are the only ones who are suffering with poorer quality phones. Apple customers can only hope that the company gets back on track when it releases it's fifth generation iPhone.
