One common sign of having hemorrhoids is bleeding upon defecation. The blood may stain with the tissue you wiped out or it goes with the stool you have defecated. In most cases, hemorrhoids are painless. But it can be very disturbing and provides discomfort with your daily living. It can provide pain when there is already thrombosis.

Medical treatments for hemorrhoids vary depending on how severe or mild the case is. Several measures are made to provide relief to every symptom it provides.

Hemorrhoids that doesn't project any symptoms, also known as asymptomatic hemorrhoids, can be treated in more simple ways like Sitz bath, eating rich-fiber foods and regular exercises to name a few. Symptomatic hemorrhoids however may require medications prescribed by your doctor. Physical examinations will be done and surgery may even be required such as infra red coalescence, or a rubber band ligation and sclerotheraphy.

Rubber-band ligation is a procedure where in a small elastic rubber band is being situated around the region of the hemorrhoids that would eventually lead the tissue to wilt and fall off resulting to the blockage of blood supply. Moreover, this banding therapy is recommended for severe degree of hemorrhoid.

Hemorrhoidectomy is being performed for chronic cases of hemorrhoid. This is the most effective treatment to cease large formation of outer and inner hemorrhoids. Patients who undergo through this kind of treatment will gain great comfort and satisfaction upon recovery from the surgery. Though pain may be felt on the recovery stage, it would subside after a week or two.

Internal hemorrhoids provide much more discomfort compared to external hemorrhoids. It is much painful and disturbing. External hemorrhoids however, require elimination especially when the bulge is quite large. Perianal sting is felt and a bulge around the anus is present that causes constipation in external hemorrhoid cases.

Thrombosed external hemorrhoid may be diagnosed through physical examination of the rectal region. It is a blood clot formation which is then recognized as a bulge. It looks like a lump, plum or blue skin-covered blood veins, or a scarlet when swollen. Touching feels like touching a rigid bulge just like chickpeas.

On the other hand, thromboses outer hemorrhoid gives a prickling kind of pain. It can lead to inflammation but it doesn't bleed at all. Elimination of the whole formation of the hemorrhoid is its treatment. But a considerable fiber diet can be an alternative treatment with much supervision if the case is not severe. The treatment can last up to three weeks maximum and will be observed for further possible treatment.
