Each solar cell collects a small amount of light energy from the sun but when all connected to each other, they can produce a fair amount of power. The energy stored within the cells can then be transferred as electric current to your main power supply; from where you can now power various appliances in your household.
A charge controller and battery system can be used to recharge the energy during the day so it is possible to receive power during the night when the solar panels are no longer absorbing photonic energy.
