subject: How to Build Chest Muscles by Avoiding These Top 3 Mistakes [print this page]

How would you feel if you discovered that almost everything you were doing to build chest muscles was dead wrong? Imagine all the time, money and effort you have spent on gym and supplements was contributing to -the wrong way! Everything you have read on building chest muscles has left you with little to show for your hard earned efforts.

I am happy to say that learning how to build chest muscles is not as hard as some would make you believe but it also not as easy as you might think. Here is some of the most popular advice I give to the trainers who wishes to build ripped chest muscles.

1. Interestingly, every time I 'm at gym, I can see a lot of people giving more focus on machines instead of free weights. I'm not going to argue that machines are bad - no, not they are, but free weights are more effective to build chest muscles. Focus the majority of your chest exercises on barbell bench press, dumbbell presses and dumbbell flys. If you are a complete beginner you can use smith machines for a few weeks but you have to move on to the "real lifts" to have a complete chest development.

2. Another serious problem many lifters make is overtraining. Your goal in the gym is to spark the muscles, not to overtrain them. Therefore you should avoid doing endless sets and reps in your chest training. If you are overtraining, your muscles it will only grow at a slow rate and the worst case you will even start to see muscle loss. Now if you are using anabolic steroids or similar substances, then you can safely dismiss this advice. But as long as you stay natural then you have to keep these point in mind.

3. Do not expect to get results in 1 or 2 weeks. Building chest muscles is a (very) slow process and you have to be highly motivated. Decide how much muscle size you wish to achieve in the next 12 weeks ,then create a plan that allows you to achieve those results. Track your diet, body fat and body measuremts to ensure that you are moving on the right direction.

Remember, as I said earlier, learning how to build chest is not hard, but you will get results only if you put these tips into action.
