subject: The Ce Marking Service: What Is It About? [print this page]

When we talk about CE Marking, we are talking about the confirmatory mark, which is important to see on products especially in the European Economic Areas. When a product has this particular marking, it means that the product has met the EU consumer Standards with regards to safety, addressing environmental issues and health matters. CE literally stands for Conformity Europeans in French or the European Conformity.

The marking is a sort of certification just like the Environmental Management System Certification and GMP Certifications. There are about 27 Countries in the European Union that should have this kind of certification. There are still other countries that are included in this list lying in the European Economic Area and the European Free Trade Area. This marking means that the product has obtained the highest order of legitimacy.

Furthermore, there are specific European countries with CE markings that are linked to certain standards. CE marking is actually help alongside the ISO 14001 Certification Bodies, which is conducted through the intensive training in the Internal Auditor. Manufacturing companies need to declare that they conform and sign the declaration that comes along with the standards.

The CE mark logo is indicated on specific products that conform to certain standards and are ready to be released in public. The only for a company to have the guarantee of the marking is to follow simple steps that include identifying directives, standards, conformity modules, sample testing, technical documentation compilation, signing the conformity declaration and affixing the mark.

There are also specific requirements set out by the European Directives in order for the companies to have the logo affixed on their products. All of these processes go along a specific CE marking service. Without the requirements, manufacturing companies will not be able to get the CE marking guarantee on their products and therefore the products are not considered at par with the standards.

Having the CE mark logo is a big deal especially across the European area with regards to their industry of consumer goods. Products without CE marking are completely considered far inferior than products with the marking and they are looked down upon.
