subject: Hot Air Ballooning In Dubai - Where Adventure Is About Hovering Over [print this page]

There was time when it was difficult to imagine any country belonging to the UAE having any potential for tourism, but those views are slowly beginning to change and while in days gone by trading was the main means of earning some foreign exchange, today tourism is slowly becoming the preferred means by which foreign exchange is earned.

Although Dubais surrounding is basically sandy and sunny it doesnt mean that all its entertaining is done within doors. One such activity that allows tourists to see Dubai in a different light is ballooning.

The sunny weather and the geography of Dubai itself are conducive to ballooning. True enough Dubai could also be seen on foot but the view from a hot air balloon is nothing to compare with and allows passenger to experience the sandy dessert, in a way that very few people have been able to view it.

Passengers traveling in a balloon will be treated to cool breezes brushing past their faces while hovering lightly above the red coloured sand dunes, taking in the breathtaking landscape as it unfolds little by little.

Most balloon ride organizers provide tourists with the required transfer from the hotels and back. While floating into the air, the lunar shape of the Hajj Mountains situated towards the east will be visible along with the contrast of the modern skyline that Dubai is constantly developing.

Perhaps the best time to fly in a balloon over the desert is when the winds have been reduced to a gentle breeze in the early hours of the morning and the air has cooled off. Many say that this is also the best time to view the dessert.

It is a good point to note that within the balloon the air is hot and eventually the sun will begin to rise and settle in the sky, so light comfortable clothing would be good, along with normal flat shoes, a pair of sunglasses and a cap.

Although the balloon ride itself is a short one, passengers should expect to be away at least five hours before heading back to the hotel again. A popular Dubai hotel such as the Raffles Dubai, UAE is a Dubai luxury hotel with a stunning appearance of a pyramid rising above the desert. Its architecture alone has set new standards for the 21st century.
