subject: Nip Tuck Here Or Nip Tuck There? [print this page]

If you are considering any cosmetic surgery in the future, will you be trying to cut the costs by having the procedure abroad or will you be staying here in the UK?

There are many advantages of travelling out of the country to get cosmetic surgery and this is often referred to as a Cosmetic Surgery Holiday or a Facelift Holiday. When travelling abroad to receive surgery, as well as the attraction of maybe getting a holiday from it, you will also find that the prices are generally cheaper.

Some of the foremost points to think about though are making sure you get a surgeon who has all the correct credentials and also that the surgeon is registered with the appropriate governing organization to carry out the practice.

Make sure the surgeon is authorized and certified and dont be frightened to ask, as qualified and honest surgeons would not be offended by you asking.

A language obstruction can be one of the main downfalls of surgery abroad and trying to get an English speaking doctor should be a priority.

Attempt to contact some of the surgeons previous patients. There are forums on the internet for everything these days so Im sure this information is available in a review design somewhere.

It is easy to get carried away with the plan of travelling abroad to receive cosmetic surgery but there can also be a few drawbacks. Some of these downsides can include choosing the right surgeon as previously mentioned; when abroad there is no way of finding out is the surgeon has any disciplinarily action taken against them which is a worrying thought in itself.

Some other factors to take down would be to also consider where you will be taken for rest post operation. Will there be a good aftercare service straight after? Will you be looked after appropriately? Is there an aftercare programme on returning to the UK? As you will be aware, you will be laid up for up to three weeks depending on what surgery you are taking, so be careful in looking into aftercare.

Dont always go for the most reasonably priced option as the cheapest is usually not the best and when you are buying something such as cosmetic surgery always look after number one and dont be swayed by price.

Always do your homework and look into every little factor before choosing this option. In many cases, the surgery is often cheaper abroad especially in Eastern European countries, but should the aftercare not be suitable it could end up costing you a lot more to travel too and from that particular country should there be any complications, in these cases the cheaper option would be to stay in the UK to take the surgery.

Europes primary place for professional and specialized cosmetic surgery is in Spain and the number one place in Spain is the south coast. You can make a saving of up to thirty per cent on surgical procedures with the majority of the surgeons speaking English; also they are all monitored under strict rules and are certified professionals. You will also find that many cosmetic surgeons in Spain are registered with the General Medical Council in the UK however, be sure to still check these out.

If you are considering any procedures then possibly the best place to go to save money, but still receive first-rate service and professional surgery would be Spain. Why not try and rid some of the nerves if you are a bit anxious by booking one of the many

holidays to Costa Almeria
or even Costa del Sol on the south coast of Spain, that are available from nearly every airport in the UK. This is sure to help you feel a little more at ease if you incorporate a holiday with your treatment.
