subject: BV And Pregnancy - What Are the Best and Most Effective Natural Cures For Curing Bacterial Vaginosis When Pregnant? [print this page]

If you are pregnant and find out or suspect that you have BV, then it will be a good thing to get yourself to the doctor for a proper diagnose. Bacterial vaginosis is NOT the same thing as a yeast infection. A baby delivered through a vagina with active bacterial vaginosis is at risk for infection, which can cause severe problems in the baby. Additionally, once your water breaks the infection can travel up into your uterus and cause severe delivery complications for you and the baby even before it is born.

I had the same problem and what I did was eat a lot of yogurt. It can build back good bacteria in the vagina area. But when pregnant and having BV it is better to see a doctor because you are having a baby and you do not want it to affect your baby when it is time for you to have it.

These are some suggestions for treating BV though.

1- I would use the garlic. It is one of nature's strong ANTIBIOTICS! And you probably have some in your kitchen. I use it for thrush in the baby's mouth, ear infections, and all kinds of infections.)

2- Acidification of the vagina is helpful. Eating yogurt with live culture or taking acidophilus tablets supports the rebalance by lactobacilli. Plain yogurt or acidophilus capsules may also be placed in the vagina twice daily for one to two weeks.

3- Garlic has antibacterial effects. Suppositories may be made. CAREFULLY peel the papery skin off of a garlic clove (nicking the garlic surface may cause vaginal burning). Place the clove in a piece of gauze, fold the gauze in half and twist. It will look like a tampon with a tail. Dip in water for ease of insertion. Replace with a fresh clove and gauze every six to twelve hours for seven to ten days.

There is also this very great bacterial vaginosis cure guide which helped me a lot when I was struggling with my recurrent BV. The guide I am talking about is called: Bacterial Vaginosis Freedom written by Elena Peterson. I have recommended this guide to so many friends, family members and loved ones who had problems with recurrent BV, and most of them totally cured their condition just by following the recommendations in this guide. I will advise any woman who is struggling with persistent, chronic and recurrent BV to get a copy of the Bacterial Vaginosis Freedom guide and follow the recommendations in it.
