subject: Bacterial Vaginosis Questions and Treatment Options - Suffering With Recurrent Bacterial Vaginosis And Cured With Sitz Baths? [print this page] This question is form a woman with chronic BVThis question is form a woman with chronic BV. I'm going to give you a little background info first. I am 24 and have been suffering from chronic Bacterial Vaginosis for 7 years. I have tried every prescription under the sun (metro-gel, clindess, Boric Acid, Flagyl, etc). All they seem to do is get rid of the infection till my monthly cycle comes then BAM, back to where I started. Also, with using the antibiotics I just end up replacing the BV with a yeast infection and then my monthly-period comes around and guess what? Yep, BV again! All my doctors can basically do is give me the antibiotics and wish me luck. I have stopped taking birth control pills (since that can cause infections) and have stopped smoking. I am at my wits end and I am just about to give up on finding something that works and just live with it. I'll be honest, I get it anywhere from 8-13 times a year and I'm sick of throwing money down the drain.
What did you do to cure your chronic BV? Do you have any other recommendations? I have been doing research for years now and the only things I have not tried are the natural remedies. TIA
This is only one of the thousands of sad recurrent BV stories you will read on the internet when you browse around the web, finding a cure for this condition. I have had this condition too, and treated it! So I know how it feels. In this short article, I will try to give you some few recommendations that I used and you can also use to try treating your recurrent bacterial vaginosis. I will also provide links to some great internet sites where you can find even advanced help for your recurrent BV condition and hopefully treat it once and for all.
Like you, I suffered from chronic BV. Isn't it really annoying to have this infection reoccur every now and then over and over again? Like you, I have seen too many doctors who have just prescribed me some pills and that was basically it. It was such a burden on my sex life. Some few things that seemed to help me are this:
Research "sitz baths". Many sites will tell you they are used to treat hemorrhoids and other things, but it works for BV, too. What you do is you fill up your bath tub with warm water just enough to cover your bottom and your vagina. (I would fill it up to my belly button) pour about 1/2 cup of baking soda (the powder, not liquid!) And just soak for about 30 min. What this does is changes the ph of your flora levels in your uterus. Use the sitz baths as soon as you start experiencing symptoms of bv!!! Continue to use this regimen until symptoms are gone.
Also - if you use tampons, change them OFTEN. At least every 2 hours. More often than what the box tell you!
Last but not least - head over to WalMart and pick up a box of those new Yeast Balance Acidophillis pearl vitamins. These pills are probiotics for your reproductive system.
There is also this very great bacterial vaginosis cure guide which helped me a lot when I was struggling with my recurrent BV. The guide I am talking about is called: Bacterial Vaginosis Freedom written by Elena Peterson. I have recommended this guide to so many friends, family members and loved ones who had problems with recurrent BV, and most of them totally cured their condition just by following the recommendations in this guide. I will advise any woman who is struggling with persistent, chronic and recurrent BV to get a copy of the Bacterial Vaginosis Freedom guide and follow the recommendations in it.
