subject: 10 Easy Tips For Boosting My Website In The Search Engines [print this page]

SEO (Search Engine Marketing) and Internet Marketing usually go hand in hand. Both are sometimes considered dirty, or four letter words; however, if done correctly, good SEO and internet marketing can boost search engine results in a matter of weeks, if not sooner. If you wish to boost your websites page rank to finally see your listing at the front of the line, following these tips is a good place to start.

.Backlinks, Backlinks and more Backlinks: Not just any backlinks, though. Quality backlinks are the key and preferential to quantity. Your site makes a bigger showing in the search engines when it is linked to a high rated or ranked site which is popular and not blacklisted. Avoid link farms and blind linking, or your website may be penalized as a result. Any links to pages or sites known for spam or on a blacklist will almost instantly see your own site on the blacklist with theirs.

.Outbound Links: These types are just the opposite of backlinks. These are links from your website to other reputable websites. The sites you link to should rank well, not be on a blacklist, and not link to spam sites or be a party to spamming or other bad SEO practices.

.Deep Backlinks: Using backlinks to link directly to target pages within your website instead of to the home page. These links are considered better quality because the person linking is not doing it blindly, without having seen the content. This is achieved the same way as backlinking.

.Unique Unduplicated Fresh Content: Fresh content makes for better indexing of your website. The more your site updates, the more it is crawled. However, avoid duplicate, plagiarized or PLR content or you will be headed to the dreaded duplicate content search results.

.Natural, NOT Spammy, Keyword Placement: Search engine crawlers are looking for relevant keywords in relation to the content within the website. The better placed your chosen keywords, the more the crawlers will look at them and your website.

.Keyword Density: Anything more than 2 to 5 percent keyword density is overdoing it; your site will appear as spam to the crawlers and your site penalized for it with lower rankings.

.Title & Photo Keywords Count! Photos and titles should contain some of the same keywords as the content. If the keyword used in the article or blog post is Love, then the title and photo should also contain the same word. The same rule for keywords within content applies; no overdone or spammy keywords or the crawlers may penalize you for it.

.URL Keyword Formatting: The URL of the page should be formatted properly using keywords as well. For example, if you have a post titled How Do I Rank Well? The URL matching the post title, assuming you used proper keyword placement in your title, would appear as: (your side address).com-/how-do-i-rank-well

.Good Navigation & Site map: This is probably one of the most overlooked SEO techniques in history. For a website with not too many backlinks or outbound links, this strategy will ensure that when the crawlers hit your site, they will index every page.

.Social Networking Profiles and Pages: this is an excellent way to boost search engine rankings. Facebook fan pages, Twitter followers, MySpace groups and other website groups and pages devoted to your companys website will get your websites name out there and noticed. All strategies used for your website should be utilized for your social networking profiles as well for best results.
