subject: The 5 Major Challenges Of Hosting A Hens [print this page]

Through some discussions with enthusiasts and research into the nitty and gritty of organising hens nights and parties I have found the major causes of concern, pain, frustration and the biggest challenges associated with being the host.

i)The first and seemingly biggest frustration comes from determining exactly who will be attending the party. There are so many guests who show immediate enthusiasm for the celebration only for that enthusiasm to die down within a couple of days and to be replaced with a "maybe". Considering most places that you hire will ask you for quite a large sum for a deposit this can be a major frustration. You can easily lose the deposit if suddenly you don't have enough people to go ahead with the plan.

ii)The second biggest frustration is all the shopping around you do for the novelty toys, badges and sashes. You could either make these purchases from local shops (which could mean a whole lot of walking around) or you could purchase them over the internet (which means a lot of time surfing websites and finding what you need). Either way you are spending valuable time and energy away from the things you would rather be doing and especially when you don't easily find what you are looking for it can be really frustrating.

iii)When you hold the hens party at a venue that is not somebody's home then you are faced with the issue of where all the gifts are to be placed. Nobody likes to walk around on an evening of fun and celebration carrying a whole lot of baggage with them. Even when you place everything in a friends' car you then have to go through the pain of collecting it all back the following day.

iv)Transport is another big issue for hens nights and in particular for the larger hens parties. Hiring a taxi bus isn't always cheap and it can be quite difficult to have everybody ready at the same time. And considering at most hens nights, there is quite a large quantity of alcohol consumed it isn't always feasible to have designated drivers either.

v)And the final major challenge of the hens night is making sure everybody is enjoying themselves. This can be an almost impossible task. You can't keep your eye on everybody, especially if you want to be enjoying yourself. And there always seem to be some guests who are in a bad mood, or having a bad day and who just don't seem to want to be in the right frame of mind for the occasion. It can be quite a challenge hosting a hens night that everybody enjoys.

It would make things so much simpler and easier for the host of the hens party organiser if these challenges could be overcome without too much time and effort. Because any time and effort you use on hosting the event is taken away from something else you could otherwise be doing. Imagine you could have somebody overcome all of these challenges for you. So you can spend your time doing the more important things in your life.
