Homes for sale in Corona California are located in an area that got its start at the pinnacle of the California citrus boom in the late 1880s. The city is situated at the upper side of the Santa Ana River Canyon, which is the only significant pass through the Santa Ana mountains. Corona has been known as the Lemon Capital of the World, and the town even has a museum that presents the role of the lemon in the local economy. Another nickname for the town is The Circle City, due to its layout of the streets. They are fashioned in a grid that is enclosed by the circular Grand Boulevard.

These days, homes for sale in Corona are part of an area known as the Inland Empire. Before the 1980s, the city was for the most part an agricultural community that was known for its dairy farms, ranches and orchards. However, people who wanted to live near Los Angeles and Orange County found their way to Corona, and by the late 1990s The Circle City was known as a major suburb of Los Angeles.

Today the city is known for its ideal location within the Inland Empire- it is far enough removed from the big cities yet still close enough that its residents have easy access to everything that big city life has to offer. The Riverside Freeway has accelerated the development of industry and commerce for the homes for sale in Corona, as does the 91 Freeway. In addition, the Chino Valley Freeway links homes for sale in Corona to the Pomona and San Gabriel Valleys.

The climate of this city is considered as comfortable, with mild winters and hot summers. Most of the rainfall takes place during the winter and the early spring. Snowfall is seen rarely on the local foothills, but the average temperature during the winter stays at about 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures for those who live in Corona during the summer average in the low 90s, and during the hottest times of the summer, daytime temperatures often exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Recently construction for a proposed 10-mile long tunnel has been discussed for the homes for sale in Corona. It would be a tunnel for both automobiles and for fast speed trains under Santiago Peak, connecting Interstate 15 in Corona with the 55 Freeway of Orange County and Interstate 5 to cut down on commuter traffic on the busy 91 Freeway. This would further make travel around the homes for sale in Corona easy and convenient.
