subject: Xerox Phaser 7500dn Tabloid Size Color Laser Printer With 1 Ghz [print this page]

Though the Xerox Phaser 7500dn advertises itself as a tabloid sized color printer, it is actually capable of printing to slightly larger paper. And what is tabloid sized paper, you ask? Specifically, it refers to a sheet that is exactly double the size of standard letter sized paper, making it 11 in x 17 in, while the Xerox Phaser 7500dn is actually adjustable up to 13 in x 18 in (printable up to 12 in x 18 in) for slightly oversized output.

Xerox went out of their way with the Xerox Phaser 7500dn to include a processor that goes above and beyond the call of duty. Clocking in at an impressive 1 GHz, gigantic print jobs will run along smoothly without hesitation. Letter sized paper can print at a speed of up to 35 pager per minute in black and white, and color projects take no reduction in speed whatsoever. Though the 7500dn is a powerful device on its own for printing to letter and legal sized paper, its high price tag is directly related to the fact that it can print to oversized paper.

With a laser printer that can not only print to tabloid and ledger sized sheets, and even slightly bigger, but do it in full, high quality color, businesses and individuals can produce unique output unlike print jobs derived from standard printers. Brochures, newsletters, and giant visuals and reports full of charts or graphs are now possible from within the office, while automatic double sided printing adds and even higher versatility level.

A built in automatic duplexor allows two sided printing to be achieved mechanically, with no additional participation from the user, as is with manual duplexing. With paper sizes accepted up to 13 in x 18 in, full page, double sided, folded books and pamphlets can be executed, in full color, for a professional look and feel.

The Xerox Phaser 7500dn tops out in print quality at 1200 x 1200 dots per inch. While this quality is excellent, it still doesnt match some of the other units in the category that have enhanced resolution settings for photo quality printing. Charts and graphs, and even some imagery, will come out looking great with the Xerox, but poster sized pictures would not be up to par.

Xerox does make the bold claim that their specific Xerox EA toner produces the smallest toner particles available on the market today from any brand. This allows certain Xerox products, such as the Xerox Phaser 7500dn, to produce finer lines, higher contrast, and sharper image quality than their competitors. The special EA toner is also superior in efficiency, using less energy to manufacture and reducing the total amount of toner for each printed page.

Though the price tag is exceptionally high for the Xerox Phaser 7500dn, incorporating the ability to produce full color, double sided, tabloid sized output without having to leave the office could prove to be invaluable for certain business applications and, with a network card included, can be shared by an entire office.
