subject: The Decrease In The Costings Of Flights [print this page]

Of all the industries in the world, the aviation industry is probably the one that has changed the most in the last decade. The amount of carriers operating flights around the world is now higher than ever. There are certainly higher concentrations of flights in certain parts of the world than others. The 2 airports that probably hold the most traffic are London's Heathrow, the JFK airport in New York.

People travel by air for a large number of different reasons. The large majority travel for either business or for a holiday, some purely travel to see friends or family. Whatever the reason they are traveling for, they are always attempting to hunt down the lowest fare possible.

Luckily, due to vast increase in airline numbers operating around the globe, the market has become extremely competitive. This has caused the cost of air travel to take a large decrease of over the last 10 years or so. This is obviously fantastic news for the traveler, but maybe not so for the airlines !

A lot of the travel out of the United Kingdom has often been to America and Europe, but in recent years there has been some new destinations that have become popular with the British traveler. Among these destinations are South Africa and a lot of Asia. These have grown in popularity substantially in recent years.

There are many features that Asia and Africa have that are alluring to the seasoned traveler. Both destinations have many amazing sights of natural beauty that cannot be matched anywhere else on the planet. The pricing of restaurants and bars is a fraction of those in the West. During a tough economic climate this is a big plus.

South Africa boasts some of the finest, and oldest game reserves in the world. The "Big 5" can be viewed here at numerous locations around the country, including the most famous of all, the Kruger National Park. This is one of the main tourist attractions the country has to offer. A close second is the superb selection of wine they produce, wine that can be purchased at extremely low prices in comparison to the Western world.

As the price level of flights has gradually dropped, peoples ability to travel to these far off and exotic destinations has been opened up. This is the main reason why individuals travel far and wide for both business and pleasure.
