Some manufacturers build specific models of flat-screen, high-definition televisions to be mounted on walls. Thats what theyre designed for. If, like me, you are not technically inclined but want to be able to identify these particular TVs when you walk through that kaleidoscope of new televisions at the electronics superstore, heres a hint. Look for the words wall mount in the TVs name and/or description. If you buy one of these, you can be very brave and tackle the job of affixing it to the wall alone or you can be very smart and let the pros handle it for you.
Those other great televisions can be wall mounted, but usually they are equally happy on a stand. As for my two-cent opinion, I think the TV stand offers you options wall mounting doesnt. You can put it any place in your room. You dont have to worry about having a bad seat because you rearrange the furniture. The stand likely has storage for that other stuff, DVD players, sound systems, etc. Then, of course, some of these stands look pretty darned good, too. So, wall-mount or on a stand, make sure you support your new TV in the style and the manner for which it was designed.
