subject: OCZ Announces DDR3 memory for P55 platform [print this page] Hardware manufacturer OCZ has six memory kits for the P55 platform introduced. It deals with all cases, strips of two sets of 2GB each, but the memory clock speeds ranging from 1333MHz to 1866MHz.
The dual channel memory for the P55 platform is developed and tested for compatibility with P55 motherboards. OCZ, the modules for the Core i3, i5 Core and Core i7-platform in the Gold and Platinum Series and offers a lifetime warranty on the kits. The DDR3 modules operate at a voltage of 1.65 V. The two slowest kits operate at a clock speed of 1333MHz, the latencies of the Gold variant amounts 9-9-9-20, while the Platinum version meekreeg latencies of 7-7-7-20.
Mid OCZ introduces also a Gold and a Platinum kit, this time with clock speeds of 1600MHz. The Gold Edition is 8-8-8-20 timing, and the Platinum kits have been latencies of 7-7-7-24. The fastest DDR3 memory kits by the U.S. manufacturer do their work at 1866MHz, the Gold kit has latencies of 10-10-10-27 and Platinum PC3-15000 is a notch faster with 9-9-9-27. OCZ does not have prices or release dates announced.
OCZ modules are 100% hand-tested for quality assurance and feature propriety XTC (Xtreme Thermal Convection) heatspreaders for the most effective heat dissipation. Furthermore, each OCZ memory kit is backed by the industry-leading OCZ Lifetime Warranty and technical support for unparalleled peace of mind.
"OCZ is excited to introduce a complete range of new DDR3 dual channel memory kits that are engineered specifically for Intel's cutting edge P55 platform," commented Alex Mei, CMO for the OCZ Technology Group. "These gaming kits make use of high quality hand screened chips to deliver exceptional performance and stability at surprisingly low voltages when paired with the latest Intel processors and chipset."
