subject: Does Your Greeting Card Contain The Most Expensive Liquid In The World! [print this page] Did I hear that Printer Ink is the most expensive liquid in the world?
Probably, as it is often banded about that it is, even by major companies in there major advertising campaigns. Kodak has recently released a new set of adverts that focus on the fact that there printers use less of the most expensive liquid on earth!
Now when I heard this I stopped and thought for a second about how much one of those tiny ink cartridge refills costs me from my local Pc World. At 25 for a refill the size of a few match boxes does seem very high, however let me shed some light on how much its costing the manufacturer. According to patents produced by HP, for them to buy a gallon of their standard grade ink would cost over $8,500 a go . Now if you think of that you can understand why the tiny amount of ink in your cartridge has cost so much.
However, unfortunately Kodak have been a little overzealous about their remarks seeing how theres a lot of other liquids out there that cost a hell of a lot more than a seeming measly $8,500 a gallon . For example; in the medical arena Humilin L Insulin costs $9,500 a gallon, in the Fragrance industry a gallon of Chanel No.5 perfume will cost you over $25,000 a gallon! Now if these prices seem expensive have a look at what the real cost of expensive liquids are in the world!
Firstly for the more discerning customer you could go out and by yourself a gallon of LSD for a mere $123,000.00 , Im not sure what you would do with a gallon of LSD but thats how much it will cost you . For $153,000.00 you could be the proud owner of a gallon of Thailand Cobra Venom, again its uses are limited to the everyday person but Im sure you could find something to do with it. Finally though along the same lines as the Thailand Venom, the most expensive liquid in the world is... Scorpion Venom, at a whopping $39,000,000.00 this is surly going to set you back a bit when you get this next from your local supermarket.
So when you go to your favourite online card shop, like I did with Gift of Cards when I bought a Birthday card for my mum, dont think about the cost of the ink used to make all the cards you have ever bought, but instead think that it would take all the ink from you, your familys, every relation you have, and probably every other person in the country with all their relations to buy yourself a single gallon of your favourite venom.
