subject: Warning: Government Cash Grants Are A Scam! [print this page] Is President Obama giving away money to any one that applies for a government grant? Can you truly get thousands of dollars to use as you please just by paying a $1.99 processing fee for a grant kit or database?
If you believe this is true, then I have a bridge in the San Francisco bay up for sale, and it's a bargain.
As President Ronald Reagan once said, "Well, here we go again". Scammers are up to their same old tricks. Now they're taking advantage of the recession as they're trying to take advantage of the government's recent efforts to stimulate the economy. I am sure you have seen their ads and infomercials as they've flooded the TV and Internet. They promise the world and come way short on delivery. It's time to uncover their scam and expose it to the world to see.
How the Grant Scams Work!
1. You visit some "free" grant website where they convince you that the government is giving away money for. You use your credit card to cover a small fee in return for a "grant program", a "grant database", or a "grant ebook".
2. You supposedly get to use the grant database for the next 7 days. However, access to the database is late and consequently your credit card gets charged a much higher fee that can be up to $50 a month.
3. Even if you read between the lines and understand that this is a scam, it is usually too late. Canceling is nearly impossible. You are given the silent treatment and you will have to take some serious measures before they react.
All in all, this is nothing but another scam to get you to pay money for something of no value. This is yet another scam very much like rebate processing, package forwarding, typing, data entry, check cashing, etc.
The Bottom Line
The federal government does give out billions of dollars in grant money every year. But most of these grants are to help students attend college or for research or some charitable work. The government is about taking your money, not just giving it away. Don't get me wrong, they still make an exception if you're a reckless incompetent corporation that and can't manage it finances correctly...I digress because I am sure you get my drift. LOL.
Where to Find Grants for Free
There are plenty of places where you can find free information to locate where you can apply for grants. If anybody promises to guarantee you a grant, that's a sure sign that they are lying and cannot be trusted.
You can find all the information you need at free government web sites, such as: www.grants.gov, www.studentaid.ed.gov, www.govbenefits.gov and www.sba.gov.
