The HTC Wildfire introduces a new of generation caller identification feature by not only providing the name, number and photo of the contact who is calling, but also their latest Facebook status and remind the user if its the contacts birthday. The impressive touch screen handset also features 7 home screens each fully customisable by the user, and all can be seen together as thumbnails by a simple tap or pinch of the display.

The social networking features dont stop there, with Facebook, Twitter and Flickr all consolidated into the Friend Stream application, which offers the use of all three sites in one place. Meanwhile the People widget makes it easy to find friends from any of the 7 home screens, by featuring easy customised shortcuts on each, making friends only a tap away from a phone call.

The Wildfire also features the News application which provides al the latest news and feeds from sleeted websites, to further help the user keep yup to date with what interests them. Work doesnt have to be missed out either with easy email synchronisation, including with Microsoft Exchange email, it doesnt matter if the office has been left behind, colleagues can still make contact.

The phone has all the usual multimedia features including Music for enjoying music playback and the Gallery application for videos and photos. Photo sharing is available through the Friend Stream application, and video sharing is also possible through the popular site YouTube. The handset has an internal GPS antenna and digital compass providing Google Maps and HTC Footprints which offers turn-by-turn navigation.

A 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash is also featured on this handset, along with geotagging. Other HTC widgets offered and preloaded are Calculator, Clock, FM Radio with the featured FM radio that the phone has, Mail, Messages and Weather. Many more widgets and applications can be downloaded to this Android (2.1 Eclair) phone through the popular Android Market. App Sharing makes it easy for the user to share a direct link to a liked app with a friend, recommending they download it too.

Other special features that this handset offers include an in-built dimple flashlight for use when a torch is needed, and full Flash support from the HTML web browser. Meanwhile, the phone ringer decreases its volume automatically on the handset being picked up, and if it is placed scree-side down, the ringer mutes altogether.

The HTC Wildfire is an impressive handset with plenty of additional features from its manufacturer in addition to the already customisable Android operating system. The hardware also doesnt fail to further add to the functionality and diversity of this phone.
