The HTC Wildfire is great for social networking with a unified thread of all Facebook statuses, Tweets and messages, as well as providing all the latest updates when an individual friend is viewed. The handset also offers 7 different home screens making it possible for the user to organise their friends and friend groups easily for reference and faster contacting.

The phone has 512 megabytes read-only memory storage and supports up to 32 gigabytes through its expandable (microSD) card slot. The random access memory (RAM) is 384 megabytes working with a 528 MHz processor. Videos and images are brought to the user through the capacitive touch screen with pinch to zoom and 3.2 inches in size.

The Wildfire is a 3G handset with an internet connection speed up to 7.2 Megabits per second (Mbps) download and 384 kilobits per second (kbps) upload, in addition to GPRS, EDGE and WiFi connection capabilities. Internet sharing is also made possible via the micro-USB connection the phone has.

File sharing is made possible through FTP and OOP along with various other profiles supported. Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate meanwhile, makes for quick data sharing between compatible deices within a short distance of each other. This includes a wireless stereo headset which connect via Bluetooth A2DP to allow wireless enjoyment and listening of music or video soundtrack. Alternatively, the more standard 3.5mm jack plug is also present.

The handset runs Android 2.1 operating system, commonly called Eclair. It also features HTC Sense, which adds further functionality to already impressive software. HTC Widgets included are Bookmarks, Mail for emailing, People for Elias finding contacts, Friend Stream for threaded viewing of social networking, News for getting the latest from desired websites and more. The Android OS of course, includes Android Market which makes it possible to customise any handset with many applications and widgets available for download.

The phone also has an impressive 5 megapixel camera which offers easy photo capture with autofocus and flash, and geotagging also. Pictures can then be viewed in the Gallery application, along with videos also, and instantly shared through popular social networking sites and Flickr. Music offers all the MP3 features as well as the FM radio.

The HTC Wildfire provides all of the mainstream functions and features of an Android mobile phone, while adding additional features such as HTC Sense, and impressive preloaded widgets and applications. This is coupled with an intuitive and simple user interface through the 3.2 touch screen, and the presence of a camera, internal GPS and in-built flashlight provide further useful tools that make this a real anywhere handset.
