I met my new neighbors today and it was a very interesting experience. At first, they seemed like normal people and I made the mistake or at least thought I made the mistake of asking them how they met. It was almost like slow motion as the word " Online" flowed out of their mouths. I was embarrassed as they asked about me rolling my eyes. I apologized and told them that I did not think those type of hook-ups actually lasted. They laughed and agreed with me. I was a bit confused at first but they shared it was not an online dating website, they had actually met several years earlier but lost touch with one another. Then one posted a note on MetNote.Com and within 72 hours they were having dinner together. At first, I did not believe them but after a five minute explanation, they won me over. I had to admit that I had never heard of MetNote but as soon as I got back in to the house, I looked it up online.

This site was so really cool and I had never seen anything like it. It was a sort of hook-up website but none like I had ever seen. Generally speaking, most of the people on there had briefly met someone and lost contact with them. One person writes a note for the other person and the note waits for them until they find it. It is sort of like an internet version of a message in a bottle. You simply write a little note and address it with all the information you remember about the other person. You then post it and wait for the best. The interesting thing is that people all over the world are being reunited because of this website.

I normally do not post anything online but I have to admit that I got caught up in all the hype and actually posted 3 notes. No, I am not a player but these are ladies that I had met in the past that I would at the very least want to know how they are doing. Of course there is always that thought in the back of my mind that maybe they are still single and would like to continue where we left off.

After I posted my own notes, I didn't realize it but I spent an additional hour reading other notes from people. It is amazing to hear about romance from all over the world. Perhaps love is the international language of the world.

UPDATE: Holy smokes the website works! Diane from my 2001 Summer cruise actually found my note. I am so blown away and we just got off the phone with one another. She is single, she not only remembers me but has been thinking about me for the last nine years. Get this, she only lives two hours from me and next Saturday, I am driving out to see her, for a movie, and a dinner. Thank you MetNote! Your website rocks!
