The HTC Desire Black has a 3.7 inch AMOLED display to provide more vivid viewing of multimedia and the Web, and powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon processor providing a faster experience all round. In addition to this, the phone features HTC Sense which offers a unique user experience, allowing easy customisation and intuitive features.

The handset has 512MB of memory, and a microSD card slot which can support up to 32 gigabytes of expandable memory. The 1GHz processor is also supported by 576 megabytes of Random Access Memory (RAM), aiding the speed at which this phone can browse webpages and present multimedia.

The operating system is Android 2.1 (clair) offering an easy user interface, along with plenty of custom options for the user, including how their home screen is laid out with tailored navigation possible. In addition to this, the user is able to constantly add plugins, widgets and applications to their handset.

The Desire Black also has GPRS and EDGE, as well as WiFi internet connectivity, each capable of providing a fast internet connection for the user. Tethering is also an option, allowing the internet to be shared via the micro-USB connection, while FTP and OOP internet protocols are also offered for easy file transferring, among others.

The handset includes a G-Sensor and digital compass besides its internal GPS antenna which enable it to provide location based services. Google Maps application is included, as is HTC Footprints which offers easy step-by-step navigation to the desired destination. Meanwhile the Proximity and Ambient light sensors make it possible for the ring tone to automatically lower its volume when the handset is picked up, and mute the ringer altogether when it is placed face down.

The phone makes social networking easy with Friends Stream offering all of the popular social networking features such as statuses from Facebook and Tweets from Twitter in one easy to manage space. Facebook, among others is also integrated, as is video sharing on YouTube. Meanwhile, for easy twittering, HTC Peep is present.

The handset also provides an easy to use place for photo, videos and music and a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash enable the user to constantly add to their media. Thew camera also includes widescreen capture and geotagging.

The HTC Desire Black offers the user an impressive interface through both a powerful and elegant display, and a powerful processor and memory to support it. These are accompanied by an excellent operating system enhanced by HTCC Sense, all making it possible for great applications and multimedia to be enjoyed on this touchscreen phone with camera.
