subject: How To Have A Successful Spirit Wear Fundraiser [print this page] Wouldn't it be great to see everyone at your school and even parents wearing school spirit wear around school and town. Well if you follow my tips, your parents and students will love your selection and your sale will be a big success. Your goal is to have a profitable spirit wear sale and create product that everyone loves. Here is how to succeed:
1.First tip is, start with a good design. One of the most important tips I can pass on is that younger kids like to wear what older kids are wearing but older kids don't like to wear what younger kids wear. So look to your high school or collegiate looks for even your elementary school if you have a K-5 or K-8.
2. Boys also will not wear a design that is too feminine. Fonts and colors are the main culprits in this area so be careful when deciding on those two areas. Boys are probably about 1/2 of your school population so you don't want to leave them out. Girls will go for a collegiate look but boys will not go for a feminine design.
3. Include your school mascot and school colors. This will build pride and spirit at your school.
4. Don't offer too many designs or styles, better to have lots of kids wearing the same shirt or sweatshirt than a smattering of this and that. You want cool spirit wear that lots of kids are wearing so everyone wants some. You cannot accomplish that with too many designs. You need to have the same art on various items.
5. Run your sale for 10 days, plenty long. If you take longer parents just wait until the last minute to order. Make it a priority by shortening the sale to 10 days, over one weekend. Never start on a Friday.
These are some of the keys to a successful fundraiser, they are somewhat intuitive, but necessary for your success. Don't skip any, they are all important. Have a very successful fundraiser and grow your school spirit.
