In Ancient Egypt the first jewelry made was around around 3,000 to 5,000 years back. The Egyptian jewelry symbolic represent lotus, falcon, the eye and beetle . The beetle which is also known as a scarab is a symbol of good luck. The Islamic Egyptian men were forbidden to prohibited to wear gold jewelry. Religious jewelry is still used in Egypt but does not have its charm as the Ancient Egypt religious jewelry. Nowadays, in Egypt silver jewelry for religious jewelry is famous.

Till date the Christians religious jewelry is still being used. The olden days the Roman Empire ruled Christianity. The persecution of Christian converts and Christianity was recognized equal to other cults in the Empire made a halt. The Christian symbols are the cross, the rosary, and the Christian fish charm. A sacred symbolic jewelry could be of many religions and the symbol might be different but the jewelry is worn give a strength a type of faith to the wearer. Two of the most common religious symbols are the Christian Crucifix and the Hebrew Star of David.
