subject: Self Defense That Works Captain Chris Close Combat Training [print this page] Tired of being bullied? Afraid to walk the dog at night? Or are you simply concerned about staying safe in an increasingly hostile world? In any case and for whatever reason, Captain Chris Pizzo, or Captain Chris as he prefers to be called, is your man!
Pizzo, founder of Close Combat Training, has studied martial arts for over thirty years. He can drop an opponent to his knees in a nanosecond and have him beg for mercy before other onlookers even knew there was a problem. Does this sound like he needed his thirty years of training to accomplish this?
This self proclaimed guru says, no! And he swears that with some basic instruction, done by video, you, too, can wreak havoc on someones face, arms, body and head before he knows what hit him. Literally.
Of course, not everyone believes in Captain Chris ideology the way he does. Anyone who has ever studied any form of self defense, including free classes held by local police departments using their own techniques taught at the police academy, is well aware that most training includes long arduous classes, lots of training, tons of practice, and plenty of bumps and bruises along the wayphysically and psychologically!
Pizzo wants to change how the world thinks about how to learn self defense, and he began his company as a way to teach people the world over about a new, viable, successful, and allegedly simple way to fight back in a dangerous situation.
Even after thirty years of almost daily practice in various forms of martial arts, he found himself in a life or death situation in 1997 while in the car with this wife. Weakened by cancer, and sickened by rounds of chemo, he was is no shape to fight off armed car-jackers as they forced him and his wife off the road at knife point. As he literally used up his last ounce of strength, a police cruiser came on the scene and the attackers withdrew. If the police had not miraculously appeared, Chris and his wife would most likely have been mercilessly slaughtered in the middle of the road.
It was at that very moment that Pizzo decided there has to be a way for individuals to protect themselves and their loved ones from any type of attacker quickly, with little training, and with no weapons.
Many customers swear by these methods. Of course, success breeds all types of vilifying press and the close combat training scam brought to light over the past few months certainly has caused Chris his share of angst. Some customers simply complained that it is impossible to learn any kind of self defense from a DVD, and still others complained they were being sent vitamins they never ordered. Although Pizzo says there was plenty of information on the website, in emails, and in packaging materials explaining the membership plan for these supplements, the customers claimed that none of that was true.
How did Pizzo handle the negative press concerning this close combat training scam? Like a man. Like a good businessman. Like someone who has learned, the hard way, hard to defend himself.
