subject: India's First 3G enabled Cheap and Best Netbook,Zipbook,Laptop, [print this page]

wireless laptops have changed the way we use technology in the last few decades. although many named companies are coming up with great ideas about how to be the number one and stay on top, what affects their end results (sales) is the price factor and especially for something that some one can give you at a lesser price with the same range of specifications and quality. wouldnt you want to save that 'some' money?

as i spoke about dell in the previous post, hp too is trying to release their 'thinspiron' that is 3g enabled. but one thing that matters to most of the consumers are its price. the HP Pavilion dm1 series is being sold for almost 38,500, including taxes and the HP Pavilion dm3 series is being sold for Rs 58990 ! its weight is 1.5 kgs and the wide screen display is 11.6", that is more than that of olive's. int he dm3 series the wide screen display is thicker with 13.3" and weights about 2 kgs!

Which one would your prefer, given the specifications for Olive?

With reply to arjun, Olive is not really forcing anything. What i think the advantage with the Olive Zipbook is that it is 3g enabled out of the box. Currently they will be retailing their netbooks though the TATA channel. So hence the tata 3g network. Besides the option of using a USB stick of your choice is always there.

But i agree with your comment that Olive should also offer a stripped down version of the x107h netbook which would be bare bones. That would reduce the price point and make it available to another segment of the market.
