As the National Football League progresses into its first Playoff week of the post-season, fans all over the world are rooting for their favorite teams. From upsets, to blow-outs, to record breaking wild card games, football enthusiasts are more than anxious to see who makes it to the SuperBowl and gets the MVP award. Not to mention how this years early Pro-Bowl will play out. So some people wonder, and by some people Im talking about the non-fans, non-watchers, foreigners, and children wonder, why is football so important? Why do us enthusiasts love football? Well, thats easy. For one, it is a purely American sport. It was born here, it has prospered here, and its the one sport that we can call ours. Its all about American pride. Secondly, its an aggressive, action-packed, contact sport thats exciting to watch because of its large fields, talented players, and game objectives. Only the biggest and the toughest can make it as a Pro football player. The men playing exhibit pure speed, stamina, and strength which is admirable by all. The teams give us a sense of pride for our own towns, cities, and states. It makes for very fun, hard to resist rivalry games against our bordering states and competing cities. Some people put all their energy into the Sunday night games and bet all their Poker chips sets to turn a profit. The game is simply not boring! There is a strong sense of urgency with each play. One play can lose a game, and one tackle can win a game. Compared with all other sports, football enthusiasts think it is the most exciting sport to watch on TV and live.
