It might take a while for the e cigarette to be accepted widely everywhere. The reason why is that there is testing still being done as to the safety of using the device around other people. While many researchers believe that the vapor that is expelled from the device and user is virtually harmless to bystanders, not all researchers, such as the FDA, are convinced of this just yet. It is likely to take a little more time and a little more proof that can be backed up by extensive studies before an electronic cigarette user can just whip out their device and use it anywhere they please without permission.
As for now, many people are already becoming more accepting of the product because they can actually see that it is not producing real smoke and since it is odorless, it makes it much easier to deal with. If other customers are not complaining about someone using it, that goes a long way with a lot of business owners. A business owners number one goal is to please as many customers as possible and to offend as few customers as possible. They are likely to be grateful if the electric cigarette can eventually please everyone.
