How much do you like the water? Can you swim? Are you good at it? There are many water sports that can suit the playful desires of anyone wishing to have fun in the water, no matter how well they can swim.

If you like having fun in the water you must consider in what way you would like to enjoy the water, as well as your swimming ability and what kind of water you have available in your area. Whether you live near the ocean or any other large body of water, or if you have a swimming pool, you have seemingly limitless opportunities for fun in the water.

If you happen to have a personal pool or, at the very least, a community pool, there are numerous water sports for you to enjoy. There is water polo, which is basketball in the water. There is also water volleyball, underwater hockey, diving competitions, etcetera. As long as you have the right equipment there is opportunity for fun. For instance, if you have a hose, water balloons and water guns you can have a water battle with your friends.

The classical art of racing, is a timeless practice that can also be celebrated in the water. It is particularly popular in pools, especially with the ways in which it can be done.

If you would like to race you should determine which stroke you will be racing. The most popular racing strokes are freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke. If you would like to make a race more interesting you could add length to the race as well as making it a medley of several strokes. You can even do team races in order to make things more interesting.

If you live near the ocean or any large body of water, a plethora of water related activities are at your hands. Once more, racing is huge for large bodies of water, just as they are with swimming pools. However you can do more than just swimming races. You can also race boats. These boats can be anything from sailboats to powerboats, jet-skis to canoes. The possibilities are endless. You can even race on top of a surf board.

Aside from racing there are many other activities you can partake in. There is fishing, sailing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, etcetera. Whatever it is you would like to do, the water has seemingly endless possibilities and offerings when it comes to water sports.
