Gas Struts
Gas Struts

Gas struts (or gas springs) control the lifting and lowering of lids, flaps, hoods & safety guards, thus reducing manual effort and forces. With controlled extension & compression speeds, gas struts have high force capability in an extremely small package. Many gas struts are designed to be used in an industrial environment and have the added advantage of being maintenance-free and self-contained - you will find a variety of gas struts including adjustable or fixed force gas struts in catalogues of major suppliers.

Different Types

There are many different types of gas struts or springs;

* Click and go

This is a lockable gas strut which requires only one touch to fully extend automatically.

* Aluminium gas strut

These are over 50% lighter than other gas struts of the same type - they're great because they are extremely strong and are highly corrosion resistant.

* Telescoping gas strut

This is a standard gas strut or spring that offers twice the stroke of similar springs at a minimal compressed length. How? Due to the fact it can 'telescope out'.

These are just 3 of the many different types of gas struts you can purchase from a respected manufacturer and distributor.

Choose Carefully

Interested in purchasing gas struts? Make sure you choose the company you deal with carefully. There are one or two companies that will provide you with poor quality, and you can probably tell by the 'too good to be true' price! Always (as with anything you purchase) do your research first - make sure the company you're dealing with has a proven track record of supplying automation control equipment and can be contacted easily, with an address, phone and email readily available(preferably all 3).

Many Uses

Gas struts are used in almost everything! From Formula 1 (operate the main valve) cars in the automotive industry, to the furniture, building and medical industries - gas struts are a vital tool in everyday life.
