I am pretty sure you know what I mean, going out to Starbucks or a book store and talking to anyone that will speak to you, putting up flyers and passing out costly business cards, insisting that your friends and family take a look at your opportunity until they avoid calling you altogether, and holding one meeting after another in either your house or one of your up lines homes and sometimes end up with no one showing for the meeting, or how about those hotel meetings that cost an arm and a leg.
I know that when I first joined with my network marketing company, I was super excited. I could see the potential for my product to explode and sell like hot cakes. And most of all, I could see how the money could and would be made; freedom was just a few phone calls away. I was instructed to use the same techniques you were told to use. I was shown how to make a list of 100 people and given a script to follow and instructed to call everyone on the list and give them the chance and opportunity of a life time by asking them if they were interested in making some extra cash. I was very excited at first, until
I was hung up on, getting questions I could not answer because I did not have the proper tools to handle their objections; I was faced with rejection after rejection. It seemed I was the only one that was excited; no one but my up line and I could see the potential. The excitement soon faded.
It did not take long for me to realize that if I was not a super charismatic person I was not going to be able to show case my business very well or at all. After being officially shunned by every person that I knew, it was clear to me that I lacked what the masters in my business had, Self Confidence and Charisma. Of course all the rejection I suffered at the hands of my friends and family helped beat my confidence right into the ground. My up line could see my deterioration but had no other suggestions for me except, buy some prospect leads, and spend hours on the phone calling strangers. Now that no one else was talking to me, this is the only advice I could get. Spend more money!
This led me to suffer even more rejection and pain; it got so bad that my phone became my enemy. Even the thought of making one more call depressed me. I had spent the money on a list of people that really were not interested in a business. OMG, I was now being rejected by people I did not even know.
Now I am broke, I absolutely have no business of my own, because I have no one below me to help supplement my income, and no one was talking to me any more, including my up line, because they had no answers for my questions. Can you believe this, they actually stopped returning my calls! I became a waste of their time. Do you feel this has happened to you?
That is it, I give up! I started focusing on my job and work and ignoring my home based business, and then while I was just surfing the internet one night.I found what I consider to be the answer I was looking for and it saved me and saved my business.
