There are circumstances when a doctor might recommend laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, though. Surgery may be performed when:
- The cyst contributes to problems with fertility
- The cyst begins to bleed
- The cyst has not disappeared after several menstrual periods
- The cyst has grown in size after first examination
- The cyst is showing signs of cancer
- The cyst is causing pain
Even though laparoscopic procedures are much safer than open surgeries, there are still risks associated with ANY operation. Today, there are several natural treatments that are available on the market that should also be considered as an alternative to having a laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy.
