There are several things to consider before buying an offroad trailer if you want to invest in the one that will meet your needs best. You will firstly need to consider whether you are going to travel on highways and stay in caravan parks, or whether you will leave the beaten track and go to more remote places. If you are looking for the whole off road experience, then you will need a 4x4 camper with features which will allow you to be completely independent and self-sufficient. You will also need gas appliances or solar energy appliances. Secondly, you will need to consider how many people the trailer will need to accommodate, as this will predict how many beds and storage will be required. Furthermore, are the weight of the offroad trailer and the capacity of your car compatible in order to tow the trailer? With this you need to also consider the terrain you will be travelling on and the demands that will be placed on your vehicle. Look at your vehicle's owner manual for the gross trailer weight (GTW) and the tongue weight (TW) so that you don't over extend your car. This will ensure that you get the most out of your investment.
