It might surprise you to know that there are several different types of ferrets. These different types are mainly determined by their different ferret colors, and also their different markings. I think that most people probably assume that they are all the same color. This is probably due to the fact that the standard is seen far more than any other type.

It does not really matter if you are unsure what these different types are called, as long as you can remember and recognize what the different colors are.

Below Are Some Examples Of Some Of These Different Types.

1. Look for example at the "siamese". The siamese will have darker "points" on his face. His "mask" as it is referred to, will resemble the letter "V"

2. The "standard" is probably the most common type that is seen. Standards can also be identified by their nose colors. The body color will appear slightly lighter than the points on the legs and on the tail, so that they are easier to see.

3. The "albino" Like any other, will lack any pigmentation in the skin or the eyes. The fur colouring can range from being a creamy color, to a snowy white. The albino will also have pinkish eyes, and a pink nose.

4. The "black" as it is commonly called is a very beautiful animal. The guard hairs are black, while the undercoat is either white or a golden color. His nose is also black in color.

So, when you are out looking for the perfect pet. You might want to consider what type or color of ferret, that you really want to buy. It really makes little difference what type you buy, they are all perfect animals to keep as pets.About the Author:
