subject: Classic Car News: Handle With Care [print this page] Just like old possessions, vintage cars need to be handled with care - which doesnt mean putting a three-wheeled car through its paces with a little too much vigour, like Jeremy Clarkson decided to do when filming the new series of Top Gear, reports the Daily Mail website.
The Top Gear presenter swapped his fleet of high-powered cars for a vintage Reliant Robin and ended up overturning the classic car as it swerved round a corner. Fortunately Jeremy Clarkson came out unscathed, but the same cant be said for the not so reliant Robin.
Jeremy swapped four wheels for three then ends up with none, as he came a cropper by swerving too fast, reports The Sun website. After squeezing his 6ft 5in frame into the vintage motor, he then overturns it and gets even more wedged in looks more like a scene from Mr Bean than the award winning TV show.
Once described as the Marmite of TV shows in that you either love it, or you hate it, Top Gear will once again pull in the ratings when this particular episode is shown on TV, showing Clarkson in yet another hair-raising situation showing us how not to drive a three-wheeler!
In past series, the trio, which also includes Richard Hammond and James May, have raced to the North Pole, driven across the African continent and sailed cars across the English Channel but this particular stunt can be put down to a single human error or some might say that the classic car in question simply couldnt cope with the weight of such an over-inflated ego?
