subject: Beyonce Makes History At The O2 With Jay-z And Kanye [print this page] Former Destiny's Child Beyonce made history at the London O2 arena Sunday, November 15, when she filled the stadium by giving away tickets completely free. The audience was made up of fans who had won a competition promoting Trident chewing gum.
The gig opened when the diva's rapper husband, Jay-Z, appeared to perform the hit duet "Crazy in Love" beside Beyonce. Instead of using the rap featured on the track, however, Jay-Z performed rhymes from "I Just Wanna Love You (Give It to Me)" instead. But not even Jay-Z could overshadow Beyonce as she enchanted the audience with performances of "Single Ladies," "Diva" and "If I Were a Boy."
During her final song of the evening, "Halo," Beyonce even dived into the crowd, who happily passed her around a bit before returning her to the stage for the final moments of the song.
In true diva style, the singer endured a number of costume changes throughout the night which only added to the performance's charm. Beyonce seemed to be having as good a time as the fans who came to see her that night.
Kanye West rarely seen after the mic-theft incident at the VMA's also appeared onstage with Beyonce to perform a remix of "Ego." Beyonce managed to upstage this cameo as well, by flying around the arena via trapeze before launching into the Scott Storch-produced single "Baby Boy" from her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love.
The singer also incorporated songs from her Destiny's Child days into the night's thrills she sang "Survivor," "Bills, Bills, Bills" "Say My Name" and "Independent Woman." And she managed to jerk a few tears when footage of the singer of a young girl getting ready to see her first Michael Jackson concert was shown.
Seems that Beyonce aka Sasha Fierce likes a bit of retail therapy as much as the rest of us. The pop Queen was on the European leg of her "I Am..." tour last week and took time out to enjoy London with hubby Jay-Z.
First on her to do list? Hit Harvey Nichols for a serious spending sesh. The shopping list was, by all accounts, extensive, but we've got the highlights for you.
It seemed like Bey was taking her Sasha Fierce alter ego into her daywear when she snapped up this chain fringe gilet by American Retro.
She also fell for Jade Jagger's Jezebel label and picked out the Lady-Print dress which was illustrated by Jade's daughter Assisi.
Also on the shopping list was celeb fave, Alexander Wang, plus new hot denim brand 13R whose leather biker jacket caught Beyonce's eye.
