subject: Cheap Flights From London [print this page]

London has long been one of the major flight hubs of the world. Heathrow handles the most international passenger flights each year, and is the second busiest airport for passenger travel in the world overall. Although the demise of the SST caused an increase in business for major carriers across the board who have taken up the slack in intercontinental bookings, this increase has not been reflected necessarily in the fares that are offered on a daily basis. In fact, there are may cheap flights from London, regardless of the destination or the booking arrangements.

Air travel has remained surprisingly affordable, in spite of rising oil prices that have accounted for higher fuel costs, as well as increased expenditures on the part of all air carriers due to more intensive security regulations that have been mandated over the past decade. Cheap flights from London are available no matter where one chooses to fly, or how they choose to book their flight. As anyone who professes to be an experienced flier knows, advance booking and round-trip flights are always the most affordable fares overall. Yet one can find cheap flights from London even without the privilege of advance notice or having a definite itinerary.

The destinations that have always been the most popular for those on holiday - such as Paris, Hong Kong, Dubai, Antigua, Cyprus, or various cities within the United States - can still be reached without depleting the entire travel budget. Those who take their family along are especially interested in cheap flights from London, and the good news is that a round-trip fare from Heathrow to, say, Cyprus and back again can be brought in for a little over 100GBP per seat. This is an incredibly affordable way to travel for any budget, and this is just one example.

The above-mentioned rate would be on a smaller air carrier, whose fares are generally lower than the higher echelon companies. Yet even the bigger air carriers who offer more amenities are keeping up with the competition, as well they should. A similar arrangement on one of the more well-known airlines will only cost an average of 150GBP per seat, which is still well within the reach of most travel budgets, even for a family. Four adults flying for around 600GBP, round-trip on a definite schedule, is practically unheard of in these days of economic challenges.

Flying to destinations in the United States was never so affordable, either. There are so many cities that have become popular destinations, not only for pleasure but for the expanded business environment across the country, and most airlines who provide service from or through London to the United States have been able to keep their fares very reasonable indeed. A Thanksgiving weekend holiday with family or friends in Albuquerque, New Mexico will cost around 400GBP per round-way ticket on a large American air carrier. Even the more expensive one-way fares can be had for under 500GBP, and are even less when booking in advance when possible. These examples are further evidence of the abundance of cheap flights from London.
