Hello, my name is Rod Morgan of The Depression Workshop.com.
In the 1990s, I suffered severe depression for five long years but, since then, I have turned my life around. I am back on top, enjoying myself again and doing all the things that I want to.
And you can do just the same thing too!
In fact, one of my passions in life now is helping people achieve what I have achieved, which is overcoming their depression so that they can fully enjoy their lives again.
Depression is quite common. In fact recent statistics suggest that -
- roughly seven out of one hundred people will suffer depression after the age of 18 at some point during their lives
- as many as one in 33 children have clinical depression
- as many as one in eight adolescents has clinical depression
- for every one man that develops depression, two women will, regardless of racial or ethic background or economic status
- a recent psychiatric survey indicates that there are some three million people in the UK alone experiencing depression
- a recent World Health Organization study compared depression with angina, asthma and diabetes and they concluded that the impact of depression on a persons functioning was 50% more serious than the impact of the other three physical conditions
- it is estimated that by the year 2020, unless something is done, depression will be the second most common health problem in the world.
And something can be done! I am living proof that something can be done!
